Lori, hustle and Vim & Vixin.

Q. Three things people can count on you for?

In no particular order: I’m a straight shooter, I am committment junkie, I am a hustler.

Q. How did you get your start?

I launched Lure, an executive service that attracted talent from around the world for fortune 500 companies, small start ups and everything inbetween. Although I started in recruiting, building strong relationships and advising executives quickly became my core service. Probably because the people I worked with knew I cared, I gave it to them straight, and I got the work done. Honestly, I think a huge part of my success has been that I am not afraid to ask or to say what I think and I am not afraid to turn down business.

Q. Why are relationships so important to you?

I am ALL about relationships. Relationship building lays the foundation for everything else. For me, the most important thing about building a network is that the relationships are organic and authentic. My Rolodex would blow your mind.

Q. Why this? Why now?

There is a massive disconnect between how women think you get job and how companies actually hire. Over the past twenty years I have watched so many women get passed over for senior roles because they were women. And yet, I have also listened to so many Executives complain that they can’t find the right women for their teams. It doesn't make sense. I’ve also been approached by woman with amazing business ideas who just didn’t know how to get started or women trying to reenter the workforce who aren’t able to see their own value. All of this made me realize, something needs to change and I can be a part of that.

If there is one thing I know, it’s that if you want that big job or you want to build a company, there is already a fire inside you. My job is to throw enough wood on that fire to make it roar.

Q. What makes V&V different?

For starters, we aren’t afraid to get real. We’re going to let you know what’s working and what’s not (and that includes breaking down your false realities). The thing is, we understand that building and maintaining a strong image is a huge part of the process and we know exactly how to make that happen. This combined with our powerful network, makes our partnerships unstoppable.

Q. What makes you so sure that the future is female?

Women are amazing and when women work with other women, amazing things happen. The notion of the glass ceiling is archaic and has no relevance in today’s workplace. Women don't need to break the glass ceiling. We’re moving out.
